Telkom says although around 1 235 positions may become redundant before financial year-end, this is mainly due to natural attrition, voluntary severance and early retirement. For more info:

Great, now we've got less useless telkom staff to help us. I hope our friend Steve is on the list

They are probably axing the employees who are helping customers.

That is what you would expect from telkom.
