About a month ago I changed my prepaid number back to topup contract due to business, before doing this, I've just purchased prepaid data (5.5) ...when the topup contract kicks in I had the new topup data running before my prepaid data, which than expired, although the prepaid data was purchased way before and have been using a few megabytes prior to converting back to prepaid ...so about 5.4gigs expired due to contract over running my prepaid data...I contacttelkom to find out why would that have happen and they told me it's my loss and they can't reimburse my lost data...Telkom if that how you do business then I'm definitely with the wrong provider but still I want my 5.4 gigs back that you stole from me....Please

When I buy data with Mo'nice at anytime in the previous month, as soon as the 1st begin the new month's contract data get used first.
When the contract 1Gb is finished, I return to the balance of the 5Gb I bought the previous month.

I don't understand how you get that right because any data on mo'nice expires in 14 days

@Upset Customer - I wouldn't personally mix data purchases on the same SIM between prepaid & (topup) contract, or even prepaid & prepaid.

In fact, in the past, I've used one SIM for prepaid Anytime/Night time combo data, and a separate one for the prepaid Night 500GB, which became 450GB, then what is now 100GB.

Avoids the possibility of lost data between 2 different packages on the same SIM.

As far as I know if you had a prepaid sim And then upgrade to a contract, you will loose all your prepaid data/airtime on that sim.

It's rather OTT to say they stole your data.

Rather, I suspect you didn't read the Ts&Cs of your prepaid and top-up service agreements. They are different services and as I understand it there's no credit balance transfer between them.

Please then explain why...and why can't they reimburse you with your money spend on the airtime/data...it's sad to see ppl just except this as if it's normal....we'll it's not on at all... besides why weren't this info explained on the migration from prepaid to contract...after 24month if tekomers still charge on month to month, you can't then refuse to pay them or say it's you loss "didn't agree to this" ...if you do this you will be black listed ...so why must I loose ....I refuse to

I guess they did not inform you because this is supposed to be general knowledge.

You all good at defending Telkom , guess u part of the umbrella ...I understand t&cs and nobody can remember them on hand but if you do a migration it is then important for the sales agent to inform or remind you about the technicalities involve...to show some sort of transparency...and in the way you can plan Accordingly.....This is unfortunately the way telkom work and have their business forum placed out in that way ...for instance few years ago my wife did a new contract with telkom for a samsung S5 all went well, got her new phone...until a year down the line she needed to repair the phone. At the repair center we were held up for hours and the feed back was they wanted to know where we got the phone from because it was reported stolen some 2 yrs ago ....so apart from stealing data the sell stole phones too....Don't worry I got all paper work to prove our case ...that of course was not resolved up till this day...So please Don't tell me about T&Cs ...it's just to get these fools rich...try to be straightforward ...there should be a community against telkom started up and then maybe they will listen and stop look for technical excuses

I don't think anyone commenting on this thread is part of Telkom ; I certainly am not.

There used to be a Telkom representative on this forum from what I remember, a very good one at that, but I think they just moved certain communication channels to Twitter, instead (?).

I simply find for my (household) needs, Telkom prepaid LTE either direct, or to now through Axxess, has provided us with the best price to speed ratio, so I stick with them.

My golden rule is to not enter into contracts, especially 24 - 36 month ones (ie Vodacom), but have managed to stay away from them all since an MTN one, around 2008.

Maybe try Telkom via Twitter (private messaging?) & see if they can / will help you out there :
