Telkom Sync

Hi guys

Please can someone help me??

I had a phone line installed on 2 days ago. That same day i called to get an ADSL line installed. The next day i called Telkom and they told me that everything was done on their side and the line is up and running, i just need to collect my router, plug it in and im good to go.

So last night i got my router from Telkom, went home, plugged it in and nothing works. The DSL wont sync, at all. I called Telkom again and they said they will get back to me in the morning. So today i called again and after fighting with these people for an hour and a half on the phone they eventually realized that my line wont sync.

So they asked me if i know how to resync it myself or if they must get a technician out and charge me R700 for an installation. Obviously i dont necessarily want to get a technician out unless i really have to.

Can someone please explain to me how to do a resync on the line because their call centre people wont tell me either.
 
I would first connect a phone an check if you have a dial tone, then if there is and there still isnt sync (assuming POTS filters have been installed correctly) phone telkom and just log a normal fault (no internet access).
