My ADSL line went dead on 16 Dec 2015 at 16h00.

I have tested two modems on the line. The modems come on, but the ADSL carrier light on both modems stay off. I can only assume that there is no adsl signal on the line or that the line itself is dead. I don't have a telephone to check.

I reported the problem soon after on fault refernce 376CTK161215. I run a business from my address. I have a business line, but I cannot get a technitian to help me. According to the help centre, all the technitians are "busy". In the mean time, my business is loosing money. I cannot send out invoices or quotations, but in the end of the month Telkom is going to expect me to pay up!

I am hoping that a technitian who is still proud of his work, will read this. If anyone here has a phone number of a technitian for this area I can phone, then I will greatly appreciate it.

Why is it always needed to struggle like this?

I know this does not initially sort your issue out but why do you not have a 2G/3G/4G backup solution ? Data is cheap and as long as you are able to get your invoice / quotations out, speed won't be too much of an issue i would believe.

I do hope you get sorted though .

I had the same issue and on a whim I decided to hard reset the router and it started working again. No idea what was wrong because I never changed any settings and they all looked fine, but the reset seemed to have worked. Just save a copy of the config file and give it shot, no harm in trying.

How are you reporting the line if you do not know if the line is dead ??
Have you just told them your ADSL is not working , if so they will test your ADSL and not the telephone line .
If you give them decent information they will be able to help you much quicker .
