Hope other networks follow suit. Switch off 3G first to keep the telemetry users happy...but give a 2 year grace period for them to switch out their equipme T...then switch off 2G.

No one cares about Telkom.
I'm on Telkom Mobile, no complaints since 2019.

I'm with Vodacom and during loadshedding their towers go off after 2hrs
Considering the double deal Samsung A34 with 4GB Telkom mobile data
How are their speeds and reliability?
Telkom doesn't go off in my area but performance is certainly not LTE+ as the connection indicator shows.
MTN is dead in my area, and strangely, Vodacom performs the best.
Speeds are always between 10-30Mbps, sometimes more depending on where you are. It's not lightning fast but I've never needed more than that on my phone.

That is going to be very dependent on your tower. Both my openserve fibre and my prepaid Telkom sim work pretty much the same even after a couple of days without power. Maybe some extra contention on the mobile sim but still useable.
