You will have to cancel the telkom contract and they charge about R75 for each month remaining of the contract, phone them for the exact figure.

LOL :D :) :p Good one

hey guys thanx.in dat case id rather keep my contract.thats just another way of making money when a person cancel his contract.

Qooty, if the SNO can offer a similar DSL package to what you have now for R75 cheaper or less, you will be saving cash every month even if you have to pay that R75 pm penalty. Hopefully SNO won't be capping or shaping and will offer a substantially cheaper price on their products, but I may be hoping for too much!!

What this past week has shown me: U accept that things are going to get worse no matter what, and if they dont get as bad as u think.. or mayb even better than what they are now... be glad

to be honest with u guys i was stupid to sign a contract with telkom nw for DSL.i had dialup internet for like 2 yrs and didnt giv any probs.if i wudve knwn about da price change after this month then i wudnt hav taken the DSL package.the damage is done already.hopefully im not the only one.thanx guys for ur help.i appreciate it very much.

Holy moses.

My eyes are bleeding from all this abuse of the English language. Please learn to talk properly.

I think you meant "Please learn to SPEAK properly" ;)

@Qooty: I don't have ADSL myself, so not sure exactly what the contract looks like, but there may be a "cooling off" clause in it. Knowing Telkom, not likely :), but worth a check. If there is, and it is indeed something you only just got, it may be relatively easy to get out of it. If not, and you still want to try to get out of it, you could also attempt the route of cancelling on the grounds that you only were not informed of the impending price increase/change when you bought the service. The second option will probably take more of a fight, but it should (theoretically) be possible.
