Telkom Top Up - carry over ?

I've a 20mbps / 100GB softcap @ R799.00pm and occasionally need to top up, so I get another 100GB @ R249.00

Does this carry over to the next month ?
Is there a cheaper way to get extra data or is a top up the best?

I tried going to the 40mbps / 200GB softcap @ R999.00pm - which is cheaper and I never need to worry about top up - but Telkom won't let me.

Cheapest option would be a small backup capped account with another ISP, several offer data rollover for x months.
