I just want to confirm, they have pretty much completely blocked this right?

I haven't been able to download a torrent for AGES.

When I was at a friend's house on TI, torrents were unusable. The saix news server isnt half bad though.

Mines virtually at a standstill too. Hopefully later it will pick up....

Same here. Torrents are at a standstill. For the past week or so.
Even in the 12 -6 time slot.

Well I am sad to say that since I signed up for TI's Uncapped, torrent performance was indifferent, compared to NNTP, always slower during the day, although they picked up at night, often large downloads would take more than a day of constant downloading, which does not occur with NNTP.

I am of the opinion that the shaping on torrents was enforced to harshly.

Don't you have to pay? Isn't that against AUP?

There are free ones...

I just bought this service from http://www.hotspotshield.com and paid $30 for the elite version for the year.

I get vpn protection on 5 devices, computer, apple and android for a year. That is not bad at all..

As for the AUP, you are allowed to use a vpn service. What you do in it they can't see.

You are worried about AUP but in the meantime you are using torrents. Provided you are using p2p on the torrents, it is ironic to worry about AUP when torrenting. *scratches head thinkin*

I find I am being throttled from 9am. In the evenings, speed tends to increase progressively from around 11-12:

My torrents are working well. They take a while to get going but it's better than Afrihost unshaped business.

Torrent speeds on TI uncapped 24/7 are currently variable compared to 2013 but I'm moving as the same GB/mth as I always have. Changing to capped accounts on TI, AH, WA & axxess doesn't afford any significant improvement.

Note that I have a 10MB account, run Linux, limit torrents speeds in my client and have additional traffic shaping (QoS) via my IPCop firewall. Don't know if that's why my torrent experience is better than that reported here.

I am definitely experiencing the same as OllieSA - after about 11pm or so it picks up but during the day I get maybe 10kb/s on a 4meg line.
