After 2 years and 7 months of trying to get Telkom to install a normal phone line, so that I can upgrade to ADSL later on, I finally got my phone line. Great, I'm making progress. So, I went to their ADSL availability checker on their pathetic website, only to get this message:

What's that supposed to mean?

It means that you will be able to get ADSL. The exchange that your line is connected to supports ADSL and therefore you should be able to get ADSL, Unless ofcourse there are no more free ports available at the exchange. Then ur screwed :)

Thanx for the reply. I'll see what I can find out about the ports.

If your result came back negative (your exchange does not support ADSL) then you would have trouble!!

Are you going the self-install route? There's a good blog on MyBB with plenty of helpful info. iirc it is "ADSL for Dummies" - no disrespect!!!

Yeah, I'm going self-install. I'm sure I'll be able to cope with that.
