If you're with Telkom uncapped then I read somewhere that you will be shaped down to 256kb after a certain amount of downloading on a 4MB line. Is this so ?

If it is so is there perhaps some info on this and the various uncapped packages?

I'd also like confirmation on this issue, but for the 2Mbps package. I usually do about 300GB/month with my current ISP.

Its reported that

+- 100GB for 1Mbps accounts
+- 200GB for 2Mbps accounts
+- 320GB for 4Mbps accounts

Then there are people that got softcapped less than this and some more. Its very confusing and I don't the exact figures.

Anyone who got throttled at less than that is not on the package they think they are on (and this seems to be quite a common problem, and then they also complain about slow speed, because they are on 2Mbps uncapped when they thought they were on 4Mbps uncapped).

Would you be so kind as to disclose the exact figures maybe? People are spectualting that its not the total gigabytes used that determines softcapping but in fact how you use the data speed wise. Like using full speed 24/7 will get you softcapped faster irrespective of the usage on the account.

I think he means that is the softcap values. if you are on 4Mb and got capped at 200Gb you are on a 2Mb profile.

Strange I got throttled at 80Gb last month and I am on a IMbps unlimited account - my telkom bill confirms this and in January I had no hastles ?

Yes I know but the way he said it gives me reason that believe that ranger knows about the softcapping limits but are mum about them. He doesn't blow me off saying no no limit he agree's sortoff to the fact about these limits. That's why I asked if these figures are correct or not.
