Telkom upgrade became a downgrade!!

Was happy to be upgraded, but my line keeps dropping. Called them to downgrade me back to 1MBs (which I was on before the upgrade), only to be told that they can't do that. They currently don't have a 1MBs offering.

So, I am now stuck on the 384 kbps. Everything worked perfectly at 1MBs!! So their famous upgrade became a major downgrade. Back to 128 kbps uploads and buffering YouTube!! ARGHH! Sooo frustrated!

They may not have a 1mb offering, but they can sync your line to 1mb.
 
That's what I thought as well - but I think I am getting untrained staff on the line or something. I spoke to the DSL technical support and I am just getting the run around. Most frustrating!!
 
Just ask for the 2mb connection and then ask them to sync you at 1mb. If that doesn't work then just migrate your line to your ISP and get those guys to do it for you
 
I eventually got someone on the line who actually understood the situation - and I am now syncing at 1.5 -- will see how that goes. Sheesh.. those guys need some training. Thanks - your posts convinced me to try again. :)
 
I have just been synced to my upgraded 1Mb ( from 340k ) and doing a speedcheck shows that my uploading has gone from 0.1 right up to 0.4, but my downloading has gone from .32 to .34 !
