Telkom upgrade problems!

I applied to upgrade my line to 4mb from 384kb last week monday and when i checked today( week later) to get a progress report and they cant even find my upgrade order and i have to wait yet again for good service from them.

i read other threads where guys get upgraded within the day for some people or 3 days for most.
how was your experience upgrading?
am i an isolated incidence ?
 
Was done while I was speaking to the Telkom person, I was told 24 hours to 1 week, but by the time we completed our conversation, my line re-sync'd at 4Mbps, but this was about 2+ years ago.

they said they will cal me back but i hope they havent lost my info an i have to re-apply!
i just bought 40 gb at half price on friday from Afrihost and im itching to go...
 
IIRC mine took about 2 weeks. I applied through webafrica though, since they hold my line. Strangly, I waited and waited and when I phoned for a status update after two weeks it was suddenly done an hour later :whistle:

Mine was quite fast; within 3 days the upgrade was done; it depends on the circuits available in their exchanges
 
i waited over 18 months.

Live out on a plot, right next to the exchange, but there was not ADSL cards in the exchange. Took them 18 months to upgrade the exchange and once done, only took a hour to get the line installed.

Get a call outta the blue saying you're line is ready to be installed.....WTF, that order was placed 18 mths ago?!? still went ahead with it anyways.
 
Do you have a reference number? If not then apply again.

after telling me my order doesn't exist, i talked to another agent at adsl line faults who said i must insist on talking to the call centre manager as my upgrade was taking too long and them telling me '' its still progressing'' after this time is bull****, they finally found the order and im told that i '' i will be upgraded in 2 days ''....

we shall see...
