Telkom upgrades

I read up on the fact that Telkom is upgrading existing lines. There seems to be notices that ADSL line charges are to be dropped together with these upgrades, or perhaps in the near future.
From what I found it seems that only Telkom clients are to benefit from the “free” adsl line rental part. Is that so?
Searched quite a bit but cannot get definite info pertaining to this part.

Anybody with a bit more knowledge on this subject?

I would also like to know if stand alone adsl lines are going to benefit in any way, either a speed increase or price drop. Telkom didn't mention anything about stand alone lines but referred to their existing clients that have data packages with them.

The simple answer is yes, Telkom Internet are only giving the free line speed upgrade to their uncapped and capped users. If you are not a Telkom Internet customer you will remain at the same speed. However as line speed charges are fixed unless Telkom Internet is physically subsidising the line speed upgrade you will see a reduction in cost? It would actually be nice if My Broadband actually asked questions but they seem happier just printing press releases than actually investigating
