It does not seem to be tracking how much I have used. I am a little concerned as I like to see how much I use as I have only 5gigs a month.

Is there side faulty or mine?
 
Sometimes it takes a while for it to update. I don't see how there could be any fault on your side, so I'd just give it some time and check again.
