I have two data bundles currently, one I bought towards the end of Feb, and my free data I got on the 1st of March

For some reason the data that will expire within the next few days are not used at all but my 1 gb monthly allocation is already more than halfway gone. Where do I complain about this? It's also not the first time my data expires because Telkom uses my newest bundle first.

It's pretty standard as all networks work that way. No amount of complaining is going to help unfortunately :crying:

That's really dishonest. It's like they are out to screw the consumer. Can't I complain to icasa or something. Geez.

Quote:- The operator (Telkom) explained that data which is deemed to be Campaign, Bonus, Promotional will always be depleted first, even if its expiry date is after that of any inclusive, recurring, or once-off bundles.
After this data is consumed, the customer’s inclusive data will begin depleting, starting with any valid carried-over data. -: End quote
So yes, it looks like Telkom is in error in your case.

I doubt Telkom abides by this rule. I have also experienced what OP has experienced. Frankly I'm just too gatvol to try and do something about it. If I have to choose between dealing with Telkom customer service and going to China and licking doorknobs, China wins.

I was also robbed now. I had 13Gb of Night Surfer standalone data left and four days before it would expire. I needed anytime data so purchased a 60+60 bundle. Telkom immediately started drawing from the newer 60Gb night portion of the bundle so I lost the existing 13Gb. Lesson learned, don't buy new bundles until all data is depleted!

This is happening to me as well did this get fixed ?

I use to get 1 gig Telkom data and 1 Gig all network data since end of February I only 1 gig all network data and now my data is flying ... please explain

I've got the same problem. Had NS data then I bought the 60+60 a week later. I noticed it started with the 60 night and not the one expiring first.

They are still doing the same thing, my new monthly allocation is almost completely gone but the old data that expires in a few days hasn't even been touched. Bloody thieves. Does anyone know where at telkom I can complain?

I've also been advised that FIFO applies.

I had paid airtime used when Free should have been used because the free airtime was added last. They then also state that free airtime is always used first.

Seems like whichever benefits them :p

Who knows?

Telkom certainly don't.

I contacted them and they said they should've used my old data first, she logged a fault for me. Let's see what happens now.

It is a relief that I am not alone. I have a Telkom LTE prepaid data sim, which I use purely as a backup and for testing connectivity speeds.

I normally topup the sim with the Telkom LTe once off 10 day / 10 night data bundle.

On two occasions now, all the data was depleted within a day, without me using the sim.

When I called Telkom, all they said is that there was a "constant internet connection the moment the data was loaded, which used all the day and night data".

I ask if they could advised as to what the data was used for (e.g. surfing, streaming, gaming, etc...). They said they cannot disclose... Went in to the store but they referred me back to the Telkom support.

A few months have since past. I recently loaded the same data bundle and so far it has not yet been depleted...
