So I was fed-up enough to finally ditch Telscum and decided to try something new.

Last week monday I get my brand new neotel router (and cell c stokkie)
Almost 2 weeks on, several phomecalls and a visit to neotel in menlyn later...

Nothing. Zip. Zilch. Nada

Just a shiny 4port router. Of which I have quite a few tyvm. I dont need another, I need the damn internet connection it is supposed to provide.

Got to give you this though, Telkom taught you well.

LOL! Thanks for posting up - was considering Neotel for my next internet line based on the belief that they'll install faster and provide a better service. I'll be following this thread closely...

Been trying to get in touch with their Menlyn outlet since 1pm. On the 3rd try somebody picked up the phone and hung up again.

Thinking I got the wrong number, I call their callcentre. Lady takes about 5 minutes to hunt down the number. I call it. Number does not exist.
Call the callcenter again, different lady, takes only 2 minutes to get me the number. Assure me that the outlet is open when I asked if tney were closed. Told me to hold on so she can try from her end. Put me through to that number so now I'm once again listening to a phone ringing.

This outfit's professionalism is scary... </sarcasm>

Ditched Telkom a few months ago and got neotel prepaid. Kept my number and now only pay for the calls I make (NO LINE RENTAL) Saving R200 a month.

You have an internet package coupled with that Kidkaroo? if so - what speed and how reliable?

Tux if you're already paying for the service, walk into their offices closest to you, pull the teller out from behind their desk and demand they escort you back to premises to sort it out. It seems SA has become a little soft and it's time everyone took back what is owed to them in terms of service.

i almost got a neotel prime prepaid thing. i went to altech and they said, "we have no stock. we'll have at the end of the week or early next week". after a week i lost interest. another month or so later, i got a voicemail saying they have stock.

and the call center guys are obviously making so many sales that they don't even bother phoning you back.

i agree with slovak though. we need to start demanding service. as chopper read would say, "harden the f*** up!".

Well.. 2 weeks today since I received my Neotel router.
Left it at their Menlyn outlet on wednesday. Got promised "within 72 hours"
Oh... and they'll call me.

So I cruise past there today, for ****s and giggles I go in to hear what their excuse of the day is.
Find the technician yelling at somebody on the other end about not provisioning things properly.

They apologize profusely and promise to call me back.
Out of morbid curiousity I'm keeping this router to see how long it's going to take to get connected (and if one of them fsckers are actually going to call back. We have 5 - 2 odds on it at work...)

Will report back again next Monday, or if something interesting happens before then.

oh, and I just want to thank the mybb neotel rep for all the help.. /sarcasm

day 21... And a whole bucketful of nothing happening.

Mail them and ask them to help you close the account. You get directed to [email protected]. Mail that addy and the mail gets returned cause the mailbox is full :D

Could it be poor network admins or a lot of irrate customers?

The level of apathy I get from this company is amazing..
