Telkom finally arrived at our house this morning after we've been trying to get them to remove our isdn for 3 months now. The guy arrives saying he is here to INSTALL our isdn. So I say no no, we want it REMOVED. A very puzzled expression appears on his face. "WHY???" he asks. "Because we have Sentech" I say. "Geez these people are putting us out of business" he replies. hehe.

Ag ja, that was fun, but he still couldn't manage to get it removed because the line first need converting back to analog...blah blah blah. We're applying now to cancel the service completely...maybe they can get that right.

"Geez these people are putting us out of business" this is something i thought i would never hear... YEA SENTECH! take them down!

Fantasy is what people want, reality is what they need.

You're complaining about a monopoly, and now you're encouranging a trend that will bring forth another ... monopoly?

Good point Jerek.

But I must say I also had some sort of erectile stimulus when I read this post. Hehe.

Telkom should take a good look into that big crystal ball at the next board room meeting and have a long hard think about what they are doing to SA and its economic development. Their selfish attitude to the public of SA, the very people that worked hard for their money over many decades to help them establish their business can turn around and give them the boot too. My experience with the SA public is they like to let their feet do the talking and rather remain quiet. Before you know it you can lose your support base as people move on to the next flavour of the month.

NOT SO FAST

Good to hear Telkom taking strain BUT
don't be so quick to cancel your DSL as
Sentech looks to be headed exactly the same way
if not worse! How would you like to pay R18,000 a year
for 13kb/s service ?

See "slow speeds" thread.

BE WARNED.

Took telkom 3 months to remove ISDN and I sent them a lawyers letter demaning a backdated credit for the 3 months. Eventually got it out of them :)
