Hi Guys
So after the gratis month by Openweb (cheers Mr Beep), just thought I'd share my experiences of them and Telkom:
Started the Openweb account at the beginning of July when Telkom was having some performance issues, most notably with browsing and torrents, and the performance boost on both fronts was very impressive. For the first week or so it was full line speed whenever I checked, something that barely ever happened since the early days of Telkom accounts, and every aspect appeared more pleasant.
However as always there's a downside, in this case the frequent disconnects that would require a modem reset, and could be intensely irritating when setting up a download only to find it got 2mb in because the modem wont authenticate.
Back on Telkom now and looks like their performance has greatly improved, and while the Openweb experience is brilliant (and maybe mine could have been fixed by contacting Mr Beep, but it being a free account I didn't want to cause trouble) the reliability of Telkom is a better suit for some and personally I'd prefer a steady trickle to a unpredictable torrent
Still, thanks again to Mr Beep for the experience
