Seeing thatTelkom now starts to compare their products with overseas rivals,
we demand they also provide the same products locally at the same rates!

I do trust the media will also do the price comparisons when the publish the "truth according to Telkom" story.

It should be noted that broadband capping is an international norm. Both the British Telecommunication 512k services have a 15 gigabyte a month cap, while its 1 megabyte service has a 30 gigabyte limit. Other telecommunications companies that employ a similar practice include Australia’s Telstra, Belgium’s Belgacom and New Zealand Telecom.

Are these people making this comment stupid or just totally ignorant? Yes, that's true BT did introduce capping.
Now to Telkom why don’t you mention the following difference between what BT's doing and what Telkom’s doing:

Here's the difference:

BT's Pricing: 2 MB ADSL (From BT Website)
29.99 pound * 11.95 = R359 for a 40 GIG unshaped account (This include ADSL line rental).
This is R359 / 40 GIG = R 8.95 per GIG

Telkom Pricing: 1 MB ADSL
R 680 (line rent) + R 200 (3 GIG account) = R 880
This is R880 / 3 GIG = R293.33 per GIG

R293.33 per GIG against R8.95 per GIG

Now Telkom how do you explain using BT as an example but leaving the above difference out - A R284 difference per GIG.

Now I don’t think any of us will complain if Telkom can give us the same pricing as BT.

They think the public is stupid!
They'll say anything just to give an answer..

I think all of us sud use our cellphones from 1Nov and never use our telkom land lines anymor.just imagine the whole country dont use their telkom phones for like 2 or 3 months, telkom will be pissed. Then we tell them to giv us ADSL at the same rates as UK or even Japan.

just a thought.wot do u guys think.will it work.

unfortunately the public -is- stupid, which probably accounts a lot for our situation. Given, the people on this forum aren't stupid (with the exception to those under Telkom's payroll - and i say that just because i can :P) but the general public don't know anything - and will more than likely read that and go "hey, you know what? they're right" and then feel a sharp pain as my foot goes up where the sun don't shine :P

Lol, Nov 1st is gonna be one of those days i'll never forget... Uproar from the public, Telkom denying everything... Ahhhhh I just can't wait

Can we kick Telkom out and get BT to run our telecomms in SA?
