Telkom!! What are you doing?

Not sure where to put this thread but I need to vent my anger before I get an aneurism. :mad::mad::mad:

Let me start at the beginning:

on the 30th of December last year I went to Telkom to apply for ADSL (Telkom Simple + Xbox bundle). The lady captured all the necessary info and informed me it will take 21 working days for them to finish all the work. Firstly, all over the shop they had posters advertising a 4 day turn-over, I asked about that and all she said was: "yeah....that's not gonna happen". It didn't bother me too much, I assumed they were extremely busy since it was the festive season and they were busy with the nation-wide line upgrades.

On the 28th of January the technician arrived at our house. He left within 5 minutes telling us that we need to lay piping (conduit) for their cables first. I was a little annoyed since this was something I could've done during January before they came if I new about it. I phoned Telkom the next day to ensure that my order is not cancelled and that I'm currently busy doing the pipe installations. The call-center lady informed me that my order would be on "pause" until I inform them that the work is complete.

After the piping was done (early-Feb) I phoned Telkom only to hear that our order was cancelled! :mad: WTH? Luckily it wasn't a mayor issue and everything was done over the phone. They gave us the date that the technician would come, 25 Feb.

On the 23rd of Feb my son was born, so when I received the SMS from Telkom on the 24th of Feb, asking to reply with YES, or NO if the technician can still come the next day, I replied "NO". This was obviously a useless feature since while I was at the hospital, the Telkom technician phoned to say he is in the area and asked what time would suit me....

After phoning the call-center AGAIN, the new installation date was moved to the 13th of March. Once again I took a day's leave only to be disappointed again. The technician arrived in the middle of the afternoon only to tell us he cant do the work that day since Telkom is busy upgrading the lines so no work can be done in our area that week...:mad:

Firstly, how can Telkom arrange a technician to come do the work if they KNOW that no work can be done in that area that week? Now for the cherry on the cake...I asked the technician, can't he at least pull the cables in then since this hasn't been done yet. The technician didn't even know that there are no cables yet!!!!! He phones his supervisor, smiles and says sorry and leaves. :wtf:

By this time, I'm furious. I phone Telkom only for the call-center lady to put me trough to her supervisor. The line just rang and rang and after 15 minutes I put the phone down and phoned again. The second lady again put me through to her supervisor and again the phone just rang and rang until I put it down. I phoned again and the third lady informed me that the supervisors are in a meeting and she is not sure when they are going to be done. How the hell can the first two ladies just put me through to no-one and just leave me there hanging/ringing?

Long story short, I got hold of the supervisors number and phoned him personally. He was not happy at all! But what did he expect, they did not give me any other choice, there is absolutely no customer support and every phone call is a joke.

The supervisor promised me that they will come install the cables and sort my line out at the same time early this week. Tuesday morning I received an SMS to say they will come out today. Once again I take a days leave from work and....

the same technician that was at my place last week phones now to ask if the cables are installed so he can come and set the internet up? They didn't even bother organising that the cables get installed...

:twisted: Geez.... Telkom get it together!!!!!

Yes, unfortunately, if I want ADSL I HAVE to work with Telkom but this is now a joke!

What are my options? Surely they don't have the right to treat customers like this? And all my leave days I've taken for nothing?
 
This happens to so many ppl yet Telkom don't change.
Nothing you can do about it.
Bitching sure as hell doesn't work.
