Anyone else still using Telkom Wimax ?
I have been using it for a couple of years and i have to stay it is the most stable connection i have had in South africa, It is horribly Slow, but i get my full 512 constant 24/7
My issue is that 2002 i lived in the UK and even back then i had faster internet speeds than I have now, I am pretty sick and tired of a 2 min youtube vid that takes 10 min to stream, sure i can watch it on 240p and it only takes 3 min to stream, but there are not many videos i can just play and watch. Pause stream watch a little.
second thing is it is costing me R240.00 for a 512 kb line, all adsl lines have been upgraded and telkom sells minimum 1024kb/s for R170.00 Why am i paying more than someone who has double my download speeds.
The actual Wimax techology can handle 40Mb/s so it isnt a the issue, the problem is telkom. I am not asking for 40Mb/s i ould be happy with a plane old 4 Mb/s
Anyone have any news on wimax being upgraded at some stage in the future?
