Hi All,

So I don't know if I should trust this or not, but I spoke to Telkom to report a fault on my Wimax, and while we were on the subject I asked for any speed increases plans?

Surprizingly they told me that they are upgrading the Basestations as it is as a lot of the people are going wireless these days as Telkom cannot seem to win with regards to cable theft etc.

I'm not sure if there are any Telkom ppl on the forum to confirm this, maybe someone?

But yeah they said that they are currently upgrading the basestations to improve line speed.

Let's hope for the best, they've given all adsl ppl free upgrades, why not Wimax ? :)

Regards,
J

I'm pretty sure that's nonsense since you can't even sign up for a new Wimax account anymore. What they're upgrading is probably the base stations for their 3G products.

I got my Wimax installed 2 weeks ago, but it took 9 months of screaming and shouting and eventually getting phone numbers and harassing people each day. i would not take their **** WCDMA offer, i ****ing hate WCDMA, HSDPA. it is just a "easier" way to deploy internet to more people at a less cost to them but at a more expensive price.

Yes, but you ordered it nine months ago. If you try to order now, even if you get someone who hasn't been brought up to date at the call centre, they are seemingly unable to process the order on their systems. Huge pity as ADSL isn't available where I am now and I used to be a fairly heavy internet user. Now I need to be content with Cell C's 5GB a month.
