Wham, and thanks to a double power surge I'm down 1x Xbox (along with a fridge, a small TV and my DVD player)

So anyway, I just wannna if anyone else has an Xbox from Telkom that has RRoD'ed because I need to know what procedure to follow for a swop out. Any info, as always, is appreciated :)

dude try unplug your xbox power supply from the wall and leave it for 5mins and try again

Tried that too ....... there was one moment when there was no red ring but the picture was frozen mid-load and it had lines all over the screen.

I thought of that first but they're all "Eish, no stock" ......

I'll phone the Telscum bumheads again tomorrow and see if I can get someone intelligent and then afterwards I'll go the official MS route and see what transpires.

What is the warranty like on these from Telkom, i have one lying around (hides) as i need to put a hdd to get into XBL.

Hope you get sorted out and keep us updated.

AFAIK, it shouldn't matter what the Telkom warranty is .... Microsoft have a 3 year trade in warranty on all RRoD and E74 units, finish and klaar

First contact: They tried telling me that there is no 3 year thing for RRoD ... even if MS has that policy. I shot that crap down and got told that a message will be sent to the Pietermaritzburg division/branch/whatever and they might get back to me about it

Good Luck. Trying to ask Telkom to sort out problems relating to their business is hard enough. Now trying to tell them about something they dont know...I think you have more luck banging your head against the wall. Eish!

They're not all bad fortunately .... you just have to come across the diamonds in the rough.
