I got no idea what they mean by shared capping and usage capping - An assumption is that they will not cut you off if you hit your cap but depending on your usage, they will cap you if you 'abuse' the service

I'm not sure what it means.
My 3gb account is over 9gb now and i went over 3gb several days ago so maybe they arent hard capping religiously.
What australia and many other countries do is once you go over cap you go onto shaped/shared connection, where contention ratio is worse and generally slower overall but download rates can still be fairly good, perhaps telkom plans this... it would be a sneaky move that would confuse people, they'd think they have uncapped access but they would be frustrated by slow speeds once they go over their 'allowance'.
At any rate... ive had to cancel my 30gb accounts with axxess but at least i get to milk 9gb and counting out of my telkom account, who knows maybe this 3gb account will last me the whole month, haha.

With contention ratio, say there are only three people in my area with ADSL, will that mean i wont really notice the difference as our exchange isn't overloaded.

If i get charged per gig, im gonna have to sell a kidney this month.
