hey
Ive just signed up today for a 3gig TelkomInternet account, does that mean I can use up the 3gigs in the remainder of May and it will be refreshed on the 1st of June?
Or will it now only be reset on the 16th of every month?
Any response would be great.
THANKS!

Yes, it will be reset at the end of the month...

You might be able to get as much as six gigs out of it though, if telkom's current capping policy holds...

Yeah caps reset beginning of the month.
I had something strange happen to me this month, was capped for a few days and now i'm uncapped again :D

Exact same thing happened to me.

Anyway, I would advise getting a 1GB prepaid from Web Africa along with your telkom account. Then you can use your telkom account as much as possible, you should be able to reach 6GB on a 3GB account. If you do get capped before 6GB, wait a day, and try again, you will probably be uncapped again. Has happened to a lot of people on this forum, and may happen to you unless Telkom has sorted out their glitches. Anyway once you've hit your 6GB and get capped, simply move over onto your Web Africa prepaid for the remainder of the month, and take it easy ie. no heavy downloading. Then at the beginning of the new month, switch back onto Telkom, and your Web Africa cap will carry over each month until you need to use it again and again.

I log on to the SASA stats analyzer every morning after being capped to see if I got my logon back. This morning I could log on but alas, the cap is still there :-( I also noticed that my logon was immediately logged and showing on the stats. I presume all that happened is that Saix updated their stats facility?

I suggest getting a 10gig local account from web africa, then use route sentry :p
I got one, had intnernational for 5 gigs, then only local, on my last two gigs i got international again hehehe~

Route sentry doesn't work with Vista :(
@dleerob thats what I am currently doing (WA 1GB spare acc)

I think the capping issue this month was related to the switch in Telkom's capping method.

same thing happended to me
I think Ive been capped twice this month
first time it came back on after couple hours and secound time one day!
now Im sitting on 7.4Gb off 3Gb account!
Lets hope its stays this way!

I think telkom is gonna be peeved when they reset me.. i managed 14 gigs last night :)

If you want more pay more

Why does everyone always trying to get more out of there different packages using 6gigs on a 3gig packages. Why don't you ppl just switch to cheaper ISP's then you can get a 6gb account for the excact same amount your paying Telkom at the moment and then maybe Telkom will loose some major bussiness and reduce the prices.

So stop stealing and rather switch ISP it's definitely nothing to brag about when you get more than your 3gb cap from Telkom when you were the idiot that actually signed up with them and are paying them double what other ISP's are asking at the moment on both SAIX and IS

Conkiill - Dude you wont get far on this list with those types of comments... Although i agree with your sentiments, the majority of ppl on this forum dont understand that concept.
What I do find funny is if you look at things like the petrol price... That rises and rises and rises yet no one really bothers... some people moan about it in passing for a day, but then that is about it. Now if you go to swaziland or botswana - completely land locked countries that most, if not all, of their fuel is imported from ZA - the petrol price is not just a little bit cheaper, but hugley cheaper. How does that work? Yes yes... less tax on it - I have heard all that - but where does the ZA tax money go? Swaziland's road infrstructure is no worse than ZA's and there are less people buying fuel. So it begs the question .. why dont more people complain? Especially when - as I understand it - ZA can make their own fuel??? Comical that people generally make a bigger issue about bandwidth than the do fuel. Especially when the ability is here to produce our own fuel and have no reliance on the oil price...

If the petrol price was not controlled by the government then the prices would be cheaper.. Its like telkom at the moment they are forcing ISPs (Garages in the petrol example) To charge higher prices..

A while back MR pick and pay what ever his name is (raymond ackerman i think) Tried to get the petrol price to be set by the garage that it is sold at but it did not work, gov turned it down..

Anyhow
