It is my understanding that Telkom Media will come through in cable format ie cable tv , with the highly erratic DSL lines , how would this work ?

Does this mean that while we watching sport and theres a thunderstorm , or rain (as my DSL cuts off) is the whole thing is gonna freeze ? Maybe someone whos been to the United States will know more...

I know Telkom Media will also be broadcast via same decoder as DSTV as well , with just a different card , that was the ICASA ruling , unless thats changed ??

Wonder what their line ups gonna be...i know Supersport has the Super 14, Tri Nations and Formula 1 covered for next few years. What do you guys know so far about their line up?

I think they initially going to go the satellite route and maybe around 2012 they'll start the whole IPTV :P

If you live in a townhouse complex or gated community (a la Dairnfern) then they are going to be targeting you for IPTV. They can run a big pipe into the gatehouse and then control the delivery across the complex.

Everyone else will be on satellite.

As far as I know TelkomMedia is mainly going to be local (crap TV) and news. Correct me if I'm wrong...

i'm pretty sure that's not going to be the case. the programs may still be crap. but not because it is only local content.

Id rather get my shows that I watched ( I only follow like 7 series) from alternitive locations than selling my liver to pay the cost of having tv. Besides, everything on tv you can find on the net somewhere.

In Lebanon . they somehow get some of the DSTV channels at $15 , so this includes Supersports , Mnet , etc etc as well as their own cobbinatikon of MTVS, Discoverys,National Geographic etc , in other words , they getting DSTV + more for only $15 http://www.cablevision-leb.net/chlist.asp

This is via a cable tv system ,, any idea how we can maybe get the thing here ???
