A week or 2 ago telkom called US and offered us uncapped (we are with Afrihost atm) and we told them we would only be interested if they upgraded our line speed to 10mb (which others to the same exchange already has they just said we need to insist with telkom we want it.)

So now trying to follow up we got the uncapped (which is slower than afrihost) and told us no way are we getting 10mbs, even though the person making the original offer tested the line and said it can go up to 20mb. This after speaking to 4 different people and 3 different status reports, incl that the line is infact 10mb (which it is not).

OMW Telkom could you suck any worse.

Now we have to cancel the uncapped and with out luck they will cancel the whole line knowing their level of incompetence.

*SIGH*

Good luck with your 2013 goals of trolling.

You can't go from 10Mb to 20Mb without getting a VDSL modem.

Just ask Telkom to send a technician to your house to configure your line. One of their guys configured my line for 6Mbps, as he said it's optimal for my distance from the exchange.

You seem to be confused between line and internet account.

Please clarify whether your line is not syncing at 10Mbps, or whether your line is syncing at 10Mbps, and you are not receiving 10Mbps.

We have had a lot of problems with agents purchasing the incorrect uncapped account. Please PM me your username so I can confirm which uncapped account you are on. By the end of this week, the tracker will be able to show you what product you are on.

Also, I would take your comment more seriously if you provided a ticket number (from an email to [email protected], or from completing the "Report and ISP fault" form on www.do.co.za

And we should take you seriously? Cause Telkom threatens any employee who tries to help on this forum with their job. You know that right?

Telkom policies do not allow a Telkom employee to claim to make official statements on behalf of Telkom without approval from Group Communications. There are some restrictions on Social Networking as well. You will not I specifically avoid making any statements that could be deemed to be official statements.

For my own job security (e.g. someone gets a bee in their bonnet and wants to make an example), I try and avoid posting any personally identifying information

However, a number of senior staff are aware of my efforts/activity on this site, and support them

We are in discussion with the relevant people (including the team operating the official Twitter and Facebook accounts) to try and get approval for an official forum rep.

Feel free to go browse the Telkom Internet Uncapped Feedback thread, if you're serious enough about taking people seriously.
