Telkoms Modems Just dont Work...

I've had a Mega 100 wr that died on me and x2 Mega 105 that also just dont work even the techie that came out to see whats wrong said its crap. So if telkom knows this why do they sell the crap? the sad part is that I bought it cash and paid R899 for a DSL modem that does not work.

I did get a refund on Saturday after demanding that they give me my money back or give me one of the new billion modems they have...but no they gave me my money back. So now Im looking for a good modem for about the same price. But now Im paying for a service Im not even using. Im realy thinking of transfering the line rental to a other ISP. But at the end of the day Telkom still gets the money for the line so I cant stickit to them even if we wanted to

Acually the best modems were the old marconi's. I have one thats been through 5 lighting strikes.

I have stopped using D Link modems now aswell had about 5 returns. I'm trying out the Edimax ones right now and they seem pretty decent. Netgears are not bad but stand them up or they will over heat and freeze randomly. Both those are less than the R900 telkom sells their crap for. Even if I add delivery and installation it comes out about the same for the Edimax. Billion I have sort of lost faith in. I have 2 in the feild that will reset to default for no apparent reason at random times.

My Mega100WR2 has been pretty good to me. I'll be putting in bridge mode soon and getting a WRT54GL as a router soon though. The reason stemming from wanting to run routing from within the router.
