Just saw this for the first time on the Titracker...
Welcome to cap management, a tool to help you manage your cap.

You have a choice to manage your free local usage to suit your needs.
To manage your local usage click here: [BUTTON]

To manage your blended usage by setting your cap to your preferred limit, you need to be registered.
To register click here : [BUTTON]

To prevent unauthorised use of your TelkomInternet account, kindly contact 10215 to
have your ADSL line locked to your ADSL account

Since when have this been there? How does it work?

There was a post on another forum, this is good stuff, took them long but we finally have what those of us with capped accounts wanted from Ti :D

Maybe we will see an article published on this?

Under the "NEW" Cap Management section of Telkom Usage Tracker there is written in red:

To prevent unauthorised use of your TelkomInternet account, kindly contact 10215 to have your ADSL line locked to your ADSL account

I thought this would be good security, locking your account to your phone line (Afrihost can do this as well). I phoned 10215 and guess what? No one knows anything about this? They have not heard of it or how it could be implemented.

I phoned them and they told me the department that does that is open on work days and on weekends they are only open till 10:30am, so you might have phoned at the wrong time.
I was told to phone on monday and the number they gave me was 10215 option 1 then 3 then 2.

EDIT: You were right I tried phoning them, during work hours and they didn't have a clue what I was talking about. And the number they gave me doesn't send me to the right department.

Not a single person I spoke to at Telkom call centre had a clue, Too scared to play with it myself in case I get a huge bill at the end of the month

Seems like you can set a cap on your local only portion which is currently uncapped.

Not sure about any of the other features.

Yea, something like that - but I'm not willing to trust that system at all. I'll kill my downloads at ~9.8GB as always.

Hi, I registered and then a lady phoned me back. She says that you can set your own blended cap up to 30GB's and only pay for the usage consumed out of bundle. For me it' much better then the credit card TopUp as it gets billed on your telkom invoice. In otherwords in short it's an alternative TopUp tool, and internationally it's knows as pay per usage model.

Well something is going on. Generally my TI account is cut off immediately when I reach my 9gig limit, today when I checked my stats that had been exceeded by quite a large margin, and I haven't touched Titracker. Hmm, could be expensive this.

Anyone else experiencing something like this?

Decided to test this further, the account is still running and I have exceeded my 9 Gig cap by at least three and a half gigs according to SASA. Either the techs at Telkom are all off today, or there is something afoot. Google search has not revealed any changes in T&Cs or FUPs or anything similar, so would also like to know if others are experiencing the same.

It appears I have just been capped on my TI account at 18.3 Gigs. New double the cap, or an anomaly?

They probably made this so that when there system messes up and doesn't cap like it has in the past, they can now charge you for it, saying that the customer didn't set their cap properly.

Just like shaunvw said, when you go over your international cap, they will charge you.

Oh ****, I know I've exceeded my cap quite a lot. But nothing has stopped me. But in the the management portal it says I've only used 200MB which is impossible.

If I get billed for this I'm going to be mighty upset.
