Telkom's stranglehold broken

Uhhh.. they're allowed to build their own local links as well but as far as I can recall they said it's cheaper for them just sticking with Telkom.

So come next April when Telkom loses it's rights to the SAT-3 landing station we can expect not just Neotel but the cellco's to buy bandwidth directly on it?

I'm just guessing but they'd have to find someone to sell it to them.

Well they could either go through VSNL or BT (I think they also own a chunk of SAT-3).

I think its Verizon who owns a chunk. VSNL (Neotel) have to start showing a willingness to compete imo.
