there's definately a "sweet spot" you can hook a ride on if you get your timing right.

I just have to determine what I need to download from Monday - I've got my eyes on the Novell Linux desktop trial, but I need something more "hefty" than that

DNS - Domain Name Services.
All machines on the internet are identified by IP addresses, DNS is a system that converts www.wbs.co.za into an IP address (196.30.192.182) which your computer can then use to connect to that site.

I did 7.7 GB 2 Weeks ago ... been capped since ... .... this ZA intranet thing is a bit too much ... it seems as if more than 70 % of sa companies sites are hosted overseas ...

Counting the bits and bytes.. nee man dis mos niks lekker nie, blerrie Telskom..

I will stick with my uncapped wireless thank you very much.. no need to install DU Meter or check an online metering page.. aahhhhhh bliss..

That's why I loved MyWireless last year - well, at least for April and half of May !

I was more than happy with 14k per second because I could download to my hearts content - and of course, I was used to 5k per second at home on my dialup.

Streaming audio was possible, at least at 56kbps and I was in download heaven.

Of course, we all know what happened and what the current story is with MyWireless.

So, for most of us, the option is either really slow unlimited bandwidth, or faster capped bandwidth.

Rather sucky all round.
