Does anyone know if Telkom have a spam filter on the e-mail server for our @telkomsa.net addresses?

(I specifically DO NOT want a spam filter on my mail account. They always frequently misclassify my important business e-mails as junk. No computer can reliably determine if an e-mail is spam or not so I prefer to check myself, manually.)

Thx all ... found the settings in the webmail system i.e. http://webmail.telkomsa.net/ ... they have a spam filter but it is disabled by default (good), and one can enable it there.

@Turtle, p.m. [or email me] me your email address, and I will get GMail to send you an invite to open a 100% free GMail account with 2665MB+ storage space
Thanks ic, but I'm mainly interested in a local POP account so that I can download my mail to my PC and so that it's fast to download. Hmm ... OK, I see GMail allow POP access, so maybe I'll take you up on that and just try it out.

With most ISPs [reselling SAIX bandwidth] being forced to cap locally due to Telkodemonopoly's 1st November price increases, there isn't much point in having a local POP3 account anymore, and since Telkodemonopoly claims that the 'oh so well negotiated on our behalf' international SAT-3 peering costs are the reason for SAT-3 bandwidth being so expensive [IMO that's another blatant Telkodemonopoly lie], one may as well use a [free] GMail account for pop3 - especially since GMail uses secure authentication.

The Telkodemonopoly beast must be made to suffer for forcing ISPs to cap local...

Agreed... Gmail also has an SMTP that can be used INTERNATIONALLY ON ANY ISP!!!... WITH SSL and ENCRYPTION.... anyone can read your t31k0m mail on the wire...
Anyone want a gmail account? Just IM me

Just remember when enabling the SPAM filter to create a folder called SPAM. Also when adjusting the level of strictness of the filter remember that the lower the level higher the level of strictness. 3.0 being the most effitient.
