I am trying to get support for my email account at Telkomsa.net
If you send an email to [email protected] it comes back with a message:
"I'm sorry to have to inform you that your message could not
be delivered to one or more recipients. It's attached below.

For further assistance, please send mail to <postmaster>. "

When I send the message or report to [email protected] it returns with the same message.
The one time I did get a response, they gave useless instructions to resolve the problem which is not on my side and next I receive a message that the ticket will be closed on which I were not able to reply.

My actual problem is with phishing mails I receive with HTM/HTML links attached. They should be able to block it with their spam filter. In the past it was possible to setup your account's spam filters, but that function disappeared?

Any way furstation :-(

LOL good luck with that! I had a telkomsa.net email address, but it was actually hosted by interkom? or something like that. Telkom couldn't help me at all.

If I had a penny for every client who'd called me in the last few months asking how to stop telkom spam I'd be a rich man now. Bite the bullet, take the pain and set up a gmail address. Telkom's mail servers are compromised and insecure. I'm surprised anyone still uses them for email these days.

I am not receiving email from email addresses on a particular server called t-online.de
Does Telkom block certain servers or emails?

It is a matter of urgency to follow Grouter`s advice.

It had been made clear in many past posts.
=> Stop using Telkom, more generally any local ISP`s email services.

Open an account with say Gmail, Hotmail, Yahoo or GMX.

Telkomsa.net has similar service to the SA post office.

Set up a gmail account, configure gmail to fetch your telkom mail. Every mail you send or reply to will be from gmail. Notify all contacts of new email address. Within a few months you will no longer have any use for the telkom address.

Great advice, but it doesn't help when Telkom just doesn't receive email on behalf of subscribers. i.e. they lose it all. I usually receive about 30 legitimate emails per day, for the past two days I have received two.

I've realised that the sooner I get out the better, busy configuring a new account, and I'd advise anyone who is in a similar situation to do the same. I will start trying to cancel my account billing next month and judging from the crisis in the accounts dept, hope to complete cancellation by 2022.

Telkom needs to die a death of attrition, just like Eskom and all black economic excellence parastatals.

4 clients called me already today about not getting their telkomsa email. I just tell them "Get Gmail or wait and pray" .

Its still down and from yesterday I cant even log into the web portal anyone have the same problem

Same here. Not for me, but for 3 different clients. Sigh.

A Client got this in their Telkom email inbox:
"
Telkom Internet System Maintenance
Dear Customer.

Telkom Internet would like to advise you that there will be urgent system maintenance performed on our eMail platform this coming weekend.

Impact:
Your eMail may be offline during this period of maintenance.

Change Window:
Saturday 08 Jun 2019 @ 14:00
to Monday 10 Jun 2019 @ 00:00.

Regards,
Telkom Internet Technical Support"

I have a client who has been unable to receive emails from family members in Germany and Australia, and sign-up confirmation emails for US based services (Zoom Conferencing) never arrive.

The exact error the senders get is:

Gesendet: Sonntag, 16. Juni 2019 um 22:14 Uhr
Von: "GMX Mailer Daemon" <[email protected]>
An: [email protected]
Betreff: Mail delivery failed: returning message to sender

This message was created automatically by mail delivery software.

A message that you sent could not be delivered to one or more of
its recipients. This is a permanent error. The following address(es)
failed:

[email protected]:

Message size exceeds capabilities of MX responsible for the recipient

I checked that his mailbox is only 3% full, and the messages are mostly text-only.
Google says this is a mail server error.

Telkom has responded to 1 ticket as 'resolved' and another is pending based on a 'known server error' but no resolution date is in sight.

*sigh*

Tell client what you know you must: "leave telkom mail".

It will only get worse.
