Telskum! What a crock!!!

I see some threads saying guys are hoping to get their DSL upgraded to 8mb. I wish! I am soooo p1ssed at the moment. I just got off the line with Telskum and they have taken it on them selves to downgrade our entire exchange to 2mb DSL. I have had my 4mb DSL line working perfectly for 6 months, then last week it went down and when they brought it back up it now syncs at 2mb and is VERY noisy. I just called them now to find out what's up and the "help"desk guy says the whole exchange has been downgraded because of line problems. Sorry for me.

I hate Telskum!!!! Please Neotel can you start providing services outside of the metros. PLEASE!!!

I know not much about DSL infrastructure, especially how Telkom's own setup works; but from what I do know, each user's sync speed should be independent from the rest. I dont see how they'd 'cap' the entire dslam at 2mbps, nor why they can't lift yours back to 4mbit by request. Call them again - you should by odds land up with someone else on the line to help you this time, and then tell them what I just told you. Ask them to lift your own line back to 4mbps, because you know it can maintain a stable link at that rate.

Get this. I called the 375 number and I wouldn't get off the line until they put my sync speed back to 4mb and guess what? It's all good at 4mb again!!!!
