For the past few days my pc has been acting slightly diff.

Fan speed increases gradually but always end in the highest RPM (3300rpm, intel stock)

CPU idling temp is 46 degrees C, which is 8 degrees higher than before.

System temp is also at 46, which use to be 38 as well.

So I added a 120mm fan in the front, hoping its just the heat in JHB...it dropped the temp down to 42 - 44 idling, but the cpu fan is still whirling at 3.3k rpm.

I reseated the heatsink, cleared the dust off it...still the same.

Another thing is I leave my pc on overnight, in the morning when I try open any program, it tells me this exe has an error blah blah blah...nothing opens...not even task manager???

I've ran a few scans with avast, spybot, windows anti-rogue and there's nothing...except maybe with spybot I got a win32.rena or something...but clearing that didnt change a thing.

I'm getting a new cpu cooler in jan next year, but this isnt very normal.

Besides doing a clean install, anyone got a hunch what it could be?

The cpu usage % is normal, doesnt go up and down when all my programs are shut.

Dude we are in a heat wave at the moment, of course your temps are going to get higher.

I swear last night must have been 20 degrees.

Did the reseating included a clean new layer of thermal paste?

Of course, clean new layer of jetart ck4000 after a nice nail polish remover wiping.

Lol now i feel like an idiot. Maybe you're right

Though I still feel 8 degrees is too high, since it stays the same even at night.

Just need to be patient for my new cooler...

Remember at night it is not cooling that much hey, some days you can go from 31 to like 14 at night, at the moment its like 32-33 and 20 at night. The air is also very warm due to the heat :).

Yeah i agree about the heatwave cause basically all the fan's are doing is blowing hot air around So doubt much cooling will happen

Sounds like your fan is dusty and has been overworking itself. Do yourself a favour and just replace it, very cheap to do and not worth taking the risk.

Well I am getting one, but only in mid jan next year...

And I cleaned the dust off it, it use to rotate at 2200rpm which didnt sound like nothing...now its at 3.3k coz of this damn heat.

The room my pc is in is like 4 degres hotter than any other room, even with the window open.

Eish~
