Ten arrested for copper cable theft

Ten people have been arrested for allegedly stealing copper cables, North West police said on Friday

I doubt it since the peeps across the road from me keep burning wires on a weekly basis, been going on for years, police don't seem to care.

My area has been declared a "no cable replacement" zone but this the first time our cables have been stolen. Telkom's help line is also as helpful as...well, Telkom's help line.

I'm sure someone else has had a problem with cable theft , what is the solution to it?
currently kicking it wireless.

To be fair, it was a closed down mine. Rather they steal it there than from any other place. Not like it's going to be used anyway

They need to also arrest the people buying the copper - the buyers provide the incentive for the theft and make the most money from it. The actual thieves are small time and can be easily replaced...
