Hi everyone, could anyone help me set this router up that i purchased from Scoop Distribution.

On the router i can see it is conneted to my webafrica ADSL and i confirmed with webafrica that it did sync with them, but when i connect a laptop to it under network and sharing it says there is no internet connection for this network. This happens if i connect via the ethernet cable or wireless ive tried most of the settings i can think of could any one suggest a solution to this or do i have to return the router and get a new one:confused:.

Please help!:(

Have you checked if DHCP is enable on the router. Also try give the pc / laptop a static ip address in the same range of the router.

Make sure your gateway is set correctly. Same for DCHP. Depends on the operating system you've got but essentially you want the gateway per the operating system to point at the Ip address of the router.

If that doesn't make sense to you just say & someone will help you out.

Don't return router - its just a config issue.

The gateway is set to 102.168.1.1 for static and dhcp. I am running window 7 as well as trying to connect wirelessly via my android phone. Do i have to have any client filters on or anything? i dont see a firewall option on the router either.

I GOT IT!!! i did not know i had to activate the line from telkom when doing a self install sorry to waste your time guys! Would of been nice if telkom told me that

Hi There,
Glad you are sorted out and thank you for alerting all on the forum that a self install needs Telkom to activate it.

yes it would have been nice to have a list of steps from Telkom saying install router, call and ask for activation.

At least you are now connected enjoy

Regards

Tim
