There appears to be tangible tension in Kigali at the moment - to do with the French Judge's suggestion that the current president (Paul Kagame) and nine of his aides may have been involved in the genocide (warrant issued for their arrest). It may be nothing, but it's pretty obvious why any tension would be felt throughout the place. My colleauges went home early yesterday so the landlord could lockup early. People are a little edgy. Just looked at this file article... very disturbing. Yhis should never be allowed to happen again. It's one of those situations - if you get involved, you are called an interferer, if you don't, you are called spineless (as in Zim anyone?)

Can you give more details about what you are talking about?

Tension. OK, but how, where, whom, when, etc...

An article from 2004 doesn't help enlighten us about what you know.

Many are saying this is how it all started 12 years ago - people are understandibly nervous about a potential repeat from a time when on average a person was slaughtered every 10 seconds, 24 hours a day for a period of 100 days.
Now this tension may be perceived by some, but if you remember how things went from normal to insane in such a short period, it's understandable. I am just pointing out that there is tension among people on the ground right now.

Isn't genocide part of the African culture?
It sure was back in the "tribal days" - the only difference now is that due to medicine and technology the tribes are a lot bigger.

tension in africa!! when has there ever never been tension in africa??
 
Actually its the previous colonisers blaming the current government. Read the article. Anyone who has a genuine interest is encoraged to post.
