Hi,

I have been with Virgin Mobile for more than 3 years, and I am honestly more than FED UP with them and their non existent service.

So, a not so good portrait of my situation:

Four years ago, while I was still a student and looking for a cheap cellphone contract which my mother will sign, I found the best contract which was cheap and included a nice phone at that time. I joined the Virgin Mobile team with their cheap rates and free sms!

I've recieved fairly good service, with the occasional hiccup... (hiccup a.k.a phone lying next to me switched on, but people recieve voice mail when they phoned me, and sms's not delivered or can't be sent)
I coped with the situation at that time, because it was a really cheap option, again, at the time.

Before my contract expired at the end of the two years, my mother notified Virgin Mobile of the cancellation of the contract in writing. This was done. (I could tell this was done because they ended their debit order on my mothers account)

I then changed to an Airtime Only agreement, which I was told at upon signing that this is not a contract, only an agreement to withdraw money from my account every month for the subscription.

After I have done a credit enquiry on myself recently, I have established that Virgin Mobile conducted two credit checks on me on the same day for this "agreement". I was told that this does not need to be paid each month because it's not a contract... what the hell?

My mother notified me that she has been blacklisted because of non payment... The balance kept on with accumulating after she cancelled the contract... (this issue has not been sorted yet, because of Virgin Mobile's poor understanding of their own business)

I now sit with the issue where I want to port my number to Vodacom and end this monthly agreement. I do not want to be blacklisted in the future by Virgin Mobile because of their incompetence to cancel agreements.

What route can one follow to ensure that an agreement has been cancelled with Virgin Mobile?

Kind Regards and thank you
