So we're visiting Durban mid-May for our honeymoon, and first holiday in a VERY long time. My fiance has always wanted to do the Dolphin Experience at uShaka.

According to the terms and conditions I found online, it states that bookings should not be made more than 3 weeks in advance.

And so today, exactly 3 weeks in advance, I phone to make a booking. "Sorry sir, we are booked until the end of May". I got transferred to a manager, who told me that the T's and C's are the "old" version. Yet it's still active on their website.

It's just frustrating to me that I waited, because that's what the T's and C's I saw said. And now they just shrug, give me the metaphorical middle finger and laugh all the way to the bank.

Is there anything I can do to hold them to these T's and C's?

IanM, you're not going to get any luck with an angry approach here. Try a human approach: send a nice soppy e-mail explaining the predicament and begging on bended knee, you may just get a positive outcome.

Nope, there is nothing you can do really unfortunately :(...

As a consolation you could probably do the shark cage thing though?

Or get yourself onto the waiting list and you can only hope a cancellation happens.

You might not be able to do the dolphin experience, but the dolphin show is pretty cool and she could be lucky to be one of the ones taken on "stage" to do some of the tricks. My wife got picked for the seal show it was quite funny actually, but the dolphins went to an eight year old.

Yeah so I mailed again and got placed at the top of the waiting list for two days. So if a cancellation happens, we're in.

Otherwise we'll go and enjoy the shows. And then it gives us a reason to go back to Durban for another holiday sometime in the future. :D

That would be hilarious! Holding thumbs, thanks!

That my friend is the right way to look at this whole situation.. :)

And do enjoy your stay down in this wonderful little city of ours. Be mindful of the curry though if you aren't used to chilli :p

Lies, I had to insist they put more chili in, apparently they make them milder for Joburgers, I asked the guy how do you know I'm a joburger, forgetting my number plate is GP ;-)
