So in short I ordered Fibre about a month ago. The maps showed there is fibre on AH website. 3 weeks later they claim line in not active. OK, told them to cancel and then last week Monday got a call that line has miraculously turned active. AH takes my debit order for router and then today they say line will be active in September only. I am like "WTF Jirre help my tog".

Jirre Jissis!! The details of the whole transaction sound as if you placed the order via TELKOM instead of Afrihost! :ROFL: :p

I don't know what happened to Afrihost. Cancelled my ADSL line with them today because they never bothered to reply to my query regarding my line fault.

We are so sorry to hear of the terrible service you experienced. We always work to improve our service and hope in the future we can make this right. :giggle:

LOL not even. Makes me mad that I'm probably still going to have to pay them next month despite not receiving any service whatsoever due to their cancellation policy.

Hey drop me some details so I can help.

@op sorry for the hijack.

@cavedog I have recently moved to afrihost fibre getting started had some hiccups. I signed up for fibre on sadv who then sold to vuma.

What I would like to find out is if those of us who are on 200/200 can switch to 1000/100 since they are the same price on Vuma?

I will PM you my afrihost details if it's possible since the option is not there in client zone just yet.

I used the phone me back feature which worked well strangely enough the WhatsApp and email people responded after the ticket was sorted after Sphe called me back.

hmmm, 4 days later and not a single AH response .... ai, ai ....
If you think 4 days is a record, I waited 3 weeks before they said anything. I am now busy looking at RSA Web or Cool Ideas as an alternative.

@cavedog With due respect I am done AH and wishes to move on from this.
Even so, that's still a mighty good hassle-free offer of assistance right there to help you get your Fibre connection released and returned to the service pool quicker than it would otherwise take to accomplish, so that your new service provider would be able to acquire it from the pool sooner ...

So SADV is now Vuma Villages. The packages currently remain the same on the system. I have a chat to Fibre OPS to find out if clients can upgrade to 1000/100 but I have not seen that happening just yet. Usually if things like this happen there will be a migration from legacy packages. There is nothing that I'm aware of for ex SADV so will see what I can find out and get back to you on that one. There has been a couple of clients requesting the same.

If you manage to get that right , you can sign me up for 1000/100 as well :)

@cavedog

Hi just following up on this, in the client zone I can see that I'm on Vuma now since all available packages are symmetrical but I can't see 1000/100.

Hi Buyeye,

Not yet. Very soon though. I know the excitement is unbearable. Once it's live I will let you know. ;)

After having suffered through MWEB incompetence (though that's probably got more to do with middle management a little birdy told me)..... I have never had anything to complain about in comparison with Afrihost..... all the negative ninnies clearly need to goto an actually bad ISP for a year or so......
