Terrible interntional connectivity

Semaphore. Your traceroute seems fine.. I'm assuming you have a SAIX account? (I'm a noob at reading traceroutes, all I understand are the ms jumps :P)

Sylas, what account do you have? IS or SAIX? If you have an IS account then I think the problem definitely is an IS issue?

Hi semaphore

Could you be so kind as to provide me with our client code so that i can investigate and provide you feedback.

This latency issue is mainly effecting players of World of Wacraft Europe, not so much as most international traffic. Most isps going through Telia network (Blizzard's isp) are suffering this ingame latency since the 29th of June.

From my pathping I posted earlier you can see there is an issue between Level3 and Telia on hop 8. I noticed on others tracert other networks going into telia are having same problems, so I assume this is a problems on telia side yet again :(.

8 --- 100/ 100 =100% 94/ 100 = 94% telia-level3-ge.London1.Level3.net

My traceroute is not fine, it doesnt even reach the destination host. it times out. hense the * * *

further more it should not be doing so many hops considering these are meant to be 'gaming accounts'

I have already opened a support ticket, your staff said they have logged it with saix. Its unshaped account, and my ds/us margins are fine, my line is stable. etc.. etc..

Actually that is quite fine. Blizzard blocks ICMP on their network, so your traceroute goes up to the edge of their network, and then show *** so that outsiders can figger out their network topology. Its good for security, bad for figuring out whats wrong. But if your traceroute gets to that point fine, there usually shouldn't be a problem.

As for the amount of hops, that really depends, but you can't expect it to be as little as possible hops while it still needs to go all the way to France...

More hops do at latency yes, but minimal at most. For South Africans the most latency come directly from distance as well as shaping(yes i know its a unshaped account) and contention ratio.

Yes that is fine, but point is the connection wasn't fine. When logging into the realm i sat with 5000 - 25000ms+.

My Cybersmart ADSL 384 can't even connect to International atm. Is it the time of day - Friday early evening?
In Port Elizabeth.

I've been having problems all day with WA SAIX, very slow intl speed. Switched to Axxess IS now and I'm flying. Times like this when I'm glad I have 2 accounts.

Sigh... same here in JHB. CyberK@K since late afternoon.

Helldesk bot says... "No, there is absolutely nothing wrong with our system".

mine has been like this for 2dys..axxess semi

Mine is so terrible for the past two days. I think this problem is kind of nation wide. Does anyone have an idea yet on where do we get screwed now again, both on saix and is? Something definitely gets throttled, and we don't get what we are paying for. I need to throttle some saix and/or Is throats for this.

My download, from 512 kbps is down to less than 16. Dail -up is faster than this!

could it have something to do with this seanet thing going on at the moment?

when does this happen i have problems after 5pm when i cant do anything on the net telkom says my line is fine works great during the day but at 5pm its like there is too much of a load on the network and gets slow as hell speed is up and down all night till the next day i have a 512kb line with Axxess semi thru IS

HELP!

still the same problems...cant you switch your semi account to saix ( the ist like a saix semi)
