Terrible interntional connectivity

Just another +1 from my side. International crawling on 4mbps, WA and SAIX, Cape Town.

We have been receiving numerous amounts of complaints regarding international browsing issues on the SAIX network.

We have reported this matter to SAIX and there technicians are investigating this matter however no fault was confirmed.

We will inform our users as soon as a confirmation is received.

There's a problem on the CT IS server -> People switch to SAIX -> SAIX gets overloaded -> Both backbones suffering.

Or maybe not.

Edit:
This is getting ridiculous now. I'm trying to do a SVN checkout at work (about 800kb) and it's crawling at 248 bytes per second.

Got a similar problem since the last few weeks (I am with Web Africa) at times on my 4Mb ADSL the d/l speed drops to a crawl and fluctuates a lot. Noticed this more early to late afternoon then evenings.

i have the same problem m8 from around 5pm or so onwards cant do anything online

Same this side since last month, (Telkom DSL 384 line & Telkom Internet) logged a dispute with Telkom Internet, international keeps dropping out.

And guess what since logging the dispute last month Telkom has not even e-mailed me or phoned me back! Nor did they refund me

Area? Cape Town region.

And yes international still crawls, FTP to my hosting server in Europe takes forever...

Yeah, here as well (Stellenbosch). Since around mid June. Plenty of timeouts, crawling along at between 250b to 3,5Kb. Had to switch to Vodacom 3G to get any work done.

greets

Tim

Same thing this morning too, SAIX in CT. Unusable.

saix was terrible last night yet again, 2000-5000ms lag in wow, verizon was also a bit unstable going from 350-900 back up and down again.

Sign same what on earth is going on.

Im curious if WebAfrica has gotten any info back from Saix with regarding this.

So what's behind this story then? ..Because we're all still paying the same ISP rates...while getting less

Or do you work for the opposition darryn?

go go Level3, give us more lantecy.....
browsing still crawling..
anyone bothered to contact Saix or Level3?

Have the same problem here in Midrand. Bizarre spikes, and random disconnects.

Another symptom that I've found is that the 4mb line we have here cannot get more than 140kb/s on downloads, both international and local. I've loaded 20 torrents at the same time, and the total always caps on 140, and I've also tried direct downloads and speedtests. Anyone know what's going on? The line still got its full 400kb/s 3 weeks ago.
