Anyone else experiencing this?

I've had zero software updates from Huawei directly. If it weren't for them I'd still be on the September 2016 security patch level.

I'm on 1 July 2017 security patch level.

Got a message saying it needed an update clicked on it and it downloaded. Happens every few months.

My wife has the P8 lite from last year. About every 2/3 months an update gets pushed to the phone.

Anyone know how one can check if a Huawei phone has the latest sw?

go to setting, System Update, check for updates... it will tell you... or you can follow the Huawei threads here, very informative...

also go to settings, about phone, and it will pull up all info about your phone..

I should have said which model I have, its the P9 Single Sim with NFC.

Which model do you have?

That's not true. There may be updates for your model but they will not be enabled for your specific region or carrier variant.

Right now, System Update says "No updates."

My P8 is still on 2015. I am actually concerned about security. Might get a different brand after soon.

Only ever ota updates

Hi, we are glad to assist you. Kindly be informed that receiving the update depends on your service provider, model number and your location. You can check the updates from settings< updater < check for updates. You can also check the updates from the Hisuite application, you can download the application on the PC from the following link: http://bit.ly/2wpSFOy then activate the USB developer option from this link: http://consumer.huawei.com/za/support/faqs/detail/?id=31044 Connect your phone with the PC using USB cable and open the application. Your phone should be charged at least 30% then check for the updates. If you will find an available update for the phone and you did the update, the phone will be automatically restart. Please don't take off the USB cable from the phone or the SD card during the update whether you are searching for the update or update the phone. You can also update the phone in the service center, you can clarify your location to guide you with the address.
