What will I do every day?
Operating in a fast-paced, innovative and rapidly growing financial services company and assisting in the delivery of high-quality software, a Test Analyst performs a crucial role. Working in a small, collaborative, agile-oriented team you will assist with the testing and quality assurance of a number of in-house developed products, ensuring that they are both fit for purpose and of high quality.
The Test Analyst role exists to develop the company’s approach to a more formal testing method, improve the quality of delivered change, and mitigate the risk associated with that delivery.
1. Define, maintain and execute test cases suites for the development, enhancement or configuration of in-house bespoke systems.
2. Work closely with Developers, Business Analysts and Product Owners to review User Stories and elicit acceptance criteria for proposed new functionality and features.
3. Participate in Agile ceremonies (Stand-ups, Planning, Reviews and Retrospectives) and actively progress testing as a discipline within the team during each phase. Act as an ambassador for
testing best practice and advocate for industry-standard testing approaches.
4. Define, maintain and execute regression test packs to ensure that the integrity of existing functionality is sustained following change.
5. Log and track issues and defects through to resolution. Communicate barriers to progress to the Scrum Master and assist in the resolution of issues/defects/impediments where possible.
6. Contribute to the continuous improvement of testing processes in line with outlined department/function strategies.
7. Ensure that stakeholders are suitably appraised of test progress and actively communicate test status during the sprint cycle as required.
8. Demonstrate system test techniques and apply these to work items as required.
9. Adopt and progress a ‘risk-based approach’ to system testing that shows an awareness of the system/systems at large and the commercial impacts of any proposed changes.
