It finally happened my first dent and scratch so last night I was working night shift, the engineer was on our case we didn't have time to sleep. As I was driving back home I decided to switch off the radio and listen to the sound of my car.

I stay in a township the are lot of speed bumps in our area even on my way to work. So as I was passing speed bumps the car produced this sound like the "spray" are tired I can explain the sound. So when I woke up I took the car to a backyard panel beater to look at the dent and scratch. It's not a big scratch he said he need R350. 00 to fix the scratch and the dent.

I told him about the funny noise when I pass speed bump, we went for a test drive he said the shocks are out. How is that possible for a car with 34800km on the clock. I called my colleague he knows his way around cars, he said I'm just being silly about the dent and the scratch. He looked underneath he said he doubt it that the shocks are out, and cars normally produce some noise when passing a speed bump. I wonder what could be causing that noise but the car drive like a dream, I only hear that noise when I pass the speed bump.

Are you sure the noise is coming from the car and not from the speed bump?

take the car to a supaquick, they will test the shocks for free (in fact most fitment centres will test it for you)

What car is it? I had a 2007 Citi Golf and the shocks do make a noise on that car, it's just the way they are.

I think I will take the car for a test tomorrow by the looks of things the shocks are alright. We just took the car for a test drive again I don't know much about cars this is my first car, my colleague just advised me mechanic guys will create problems which are not there to squeeze cash out of customers. For peace of mind I will take the car tomorrow for free test.

Good plan.

What car is it? Year model?

Honda Brio 2014 model

Could the weather be playing a part to the noise I'm hearing, I just heard the noise again on my way home from night shift. Our parking is open space with only a roof. But during the day the noise can not be heard even at night. I only hear it in the morning and it started yesterday.

Just I can't explain the noise it's like two rubbers

Shocks should easily last 70 000km. Supaquick might not be able to test them in the car, but could look at leakage etc. I would not be too worried about them at the kilos on your car.

Objection your honour!

On what grounds?

It's damaging to my case :(

I'm so tired to go to town but whatever that produce the rubber noise must be related to the cold weather. I know it sound crazy just came back from the shopping center, I didn't hear that sound. Problem is maybe the sound has been there ever since but never noticed it.
