can you run it in winxp Compatibility mode? (Right click on the MediaFox.exe and set it to XP Compatibility, and on the update.exe as well)
and thanx for testing on win7 for me, i only have XP)
Tried that but still doesn't do anything.

ok i downloaded the file and opened it. it opens with the fox picture on the bottom right of my screen then asks to add media, a button on the right hand corner and a button on the top left of the screen. when i say add media all i get is a screen with a greyish colour on the top of the screen and another greyish colour box on the bottom corner right, where the logo was, and the rest i black.

Ok, the fox needs to be in the middle - what resolutions does your screen have, and what resolution are you currently using?
also, what size monitor is it?
The interface works. Adding files works too. But playing them doesn't. Not sure how you're playing them? Are you launching the default media viewer? That could be the issue.
Also, getting covers crashes it. After starting up again, I get a Directsound issue, and I need to delete + re-extract to run it again.
if i go to screen display it says 800 x 600 and its a Dell CRT monitor and i believe its a 17 inch monitor. if the fox logo must be in the middle of my screen then i need a frikkin projector screen in my house. hey is my screen even smaller?
yeah, sorry mate - MediaFox runs in 1280x720 unfortunately, 800x600 is just too small.
I might code it to adapt to smaller resolutions in future though....
thanks for the input.
thanks anyway i will try it again one day when i have a better pc.
if you are using win7 try running it with the UAC thing disabled for it, Administrator mode, Win XP mode.
also make sure you have the Microsoft C++ library installed -> Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable (1.7mb)

Nope. Still not working.
I just tried it, works greatWill it support music?
Doesn't open a GUI at all. When I have task manager open and viewing processes, MediaFox appears briefly but disappears again.
Now running all 3 .exe files in Win XP mode and as Administrator. UAC is switched off on my pc.
I disabled the UAC too when I ran win7 beta - it sucks
thanks for trying though APoc - i'll try to figure out what to do when testing it on a win7 machine myself.
