Ok. Lightning, and I have a dead PC. I tested the PSU and ram, all working. However, the PC does not start up. It is either the the CPU, motherboard or both. I suspect the motherboard, but need to test the CPU before either selling the CPU, or buying a motherboard.

Any ideas how I can have this tested easily/cheaply. I do not know of anyone that have a similar MB so that I can test this CPU.

(I am in Pta BTW)

I'm pretty sure it'll be the motherboard. Sorry can't help with the MB though.

Testing socket 754 MB

It is socket 754 I think. ASUS MB. I do not want to buy a new mb, perhaps the CPU is also dead, then I wasted R300. Then I have to buy another CPU to use the MB, while I can go for something more recent ...

Incredible asks me R250 just to test the CPU ...

I'm sure I have a spare PC with a Socket 754 board - will check and let you know.
Which area are you in?

If it is a 939 motherboard you need, pm me. I can help you to test and have a spare board lying around. Also in Garsfontein.

Can't find the S754 board (Murphy's Law!) - I found a S939 though :D
Will check a few old PC's in the garage later and see.

Please. I am sure that there is a 6-pack beer in this for you if you have a working 754 MB that i can test my CPU.

Thanks
