Testing Phase is long over !!!!
WBS Stop accepting new clients and fix your problems before they become to big to solve.

I feel like there is an atomic reaction about to happen.

Focus on Quality not Numbers!

Standard business practice.

If only this was true :( . Companies today focus on numbers. The more they lure, the larger the turnover at the end of the month.

I find it apt to say, 'If you pretend to do nothing (i.e WBSs stance), then you can't be doing anything wrong.'

Hahahaha, well all I can is my HomeDSL384 is soon to be installed. MWAHAHA.

I'd rather go for the lesser of two evils. At least you know who you are dealing with.

as far as I'm concerned seburn... you are the new clients, so go away for a bit and I'll tell you when iBurst is better :p

I can't help laughing at your reply was it meant to be funny?

But anyways I agree I should not have been signed up if there were still problems and would have had no issues with wbs telling me that.

BUT I AM SIGNED UP so why even bother posting a comment like that!

I AM PAYING for an extremely poor product (for me at this moment on my base station)

It was funny tho thanks for a laugh.

well its the same as telling WBS to stop accepting new clients, that is to say... stupid

Ok fine so you don't like the idea of them halting their sales and fixing the problem as it stands.

Then how about extending the testing phase and discounting the price
(like you had from jan)

sentech was the same when i got it. eventually disconnects were sorted and the network became super stable... pity about the speeds though. i am sure wbs wont fall for the same mistake in terms of the speed factor...

if iburst last till the end of the year maintaining speeds and having longer periods of stability then i think one can breath a sigh of relief. until now they arent doing very well... and public perception is what kills business.

selling at hifi corp means more mouths talking about the product... and right now i can imagine new mouths saying bad things...

they aren't going to alter thier entire business plan because some users are unhappy. Prelaunch was cool, cheap and uncapped and all but once April 1st came the fun part was over, now WBS has to make profits and it seems clear thier projections started from then. They probably actually need more users to show they have a viable ISP so they can throw more money to sort out the problems so maybe what we need is more users.

If they can't afford additional bandwidth they will as there will be no other choice. We all know who hold the bandwidth purse strings, so iBurst is relying on Teklom very heavily.

Scumtech were forced to introduce a highly restrictive bandwidth throttling system and ended up being no faster than a 56k modem on thier lowest offering.

I'm sure the economics have been worked out, lets just hope the user experience has been worked out as well.

iBurst are well aware that the bulk of the users they want to get won't be heavy users, but just people who want to get email quickly, do online shopping and browse news sites.

I would say that the iBurst users on this forum for the most part are not typical users and are probably customers iBurst really don't want anyway, exactly the same as Scumtech did with MyCareLess - they let all the heavy users cancel thier contracts without a fight as they were all too happy to rid thier network of them.

It will be interesting to see how it pans out as more customers come onboard.

That is the most likely explanation- true broadband in SA remains a pipe dream and I don't see Telkom ever reforming or otherwise trying to reduce their costs. Those top managers are just too savvy and too sly and in bed with Mbeki and others
