Why are you on replacement therapy?

I don't know about any gels and such though. Typically a jab in the bum/leg.

Don't think there are gels or creams. There is an injection that you get every three months

Yes there are. Transdermal test patches and creams are a thing.

Slayfish, you'd need to ask your doc/endo that prescribed the TRT to switch you over to another type of test. Why can't you handle the shots anymore? Do you do them yourself?

You wouldn't just be able to go into Dischem and ask for test patches without the proper prescription, so speak to your doc ;)

Yea i find the shots very painfull...have tried a number of different spots. Also i stress a day or two before getting them.
I do have a script for Testogel but like i said phoned dischem they were clueless.
Guess i should try another pharmacy.

I don't think sifting through a 500 page thread is good advise. The best option is to speak to a medical professional.

As Lupus said - there is a "more expensive" type which lasts longer.
It may be effective where the cheaper one does nothing - not my personal experience.

Personally I would seriously reconsider whether TRT even has any effect and whether you need it.
Whatever you pump into your blood may have a rebound effect since your body may produce less.
Rather eat steak+egg and exercise.

Well, that depends on his medical requirements. Maybe he needs it for legit medical reasons?

Without sounding facetious, it's ironic that you're apprehensive about your testosterone injections. :D

That said, I understand everyone is different and we experience and perceive things differently.

I'd like you to look at what these injections are giving you in return for the momentary pain and unhappiness it brings you. Surely your quality of life is improved or your health and vitality increased?

I have to take injections myself and have found that looking at things from the above point of view brings a new realization to bear. For my specific illness, I don't have the luxury of patches or gels, so realizing my improved quality of life for a 1 minute painful jab is worth it. I'll gladly take it any day over what happens if I don't.

Of course the above doesn't apply if you're having bad reactions at the injection site and such.

Good luck OP.

3 months injection called NEBIDO 1000MG cost R2142.68

needs a prescription from doctor.

At least they're not everyday shots of a compound with high benzyl alcohol content ;)

I had a prostatectomy some years ago and suffer now from very low testosterone levels.
As a result I experience very hot flashes.
Currently I am getting a Depotestosterone 4cc injection every 3 weeks. O boy, and if I try to go longer...
So yes, I would like to hear from men in the same boat what they are doing.
It is a shlep to go to the dr for an injection and it costs R100 per visit.
I would love to have an alternative. Years ago I got testosterone pills which worked but it was discontinued in this silly country.

Get your own and inject at home
